As the Director of Plant Operations, you will oversee and coordinate efforts across five key functions within our institution: Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Emergency Preparedness Safety, Construction, and the management of hospital-owned/leased land, property, and buildings. Your focus will be on developing and improving programs that positively impact patient care, ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff, and driving continuous improvement in core processes. Responsibilities
·
Plan, manage, organize, and control the work of Plant/Safety/Security, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards, OSHA and NFPA regulations, as well as other Federal, State, and local regulations.

Direct hospital plant requirements of outside regulatory agencies such as OSHA, NFPA and the Joint Commission, assesses compliance with Life Safety Code (LSC) and completes Electronic Statement of Conditions (eSOC).

Serve as a liaison between the hospital and contractors, architects, engineers, and material/equipment suppliers.

Create a compelling mission and vision for the department and organization, aligned with overall system strategic goals and objectives.
·
Keep abreast of current and future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting the healthcare industry.
·
Cultivate a collaborative environment within the system and across the LifePoint organization.
·
Enhance service delivery to achieve superior quality outcomes for customers and the organization.
·
Utilize key financial concepts and analysis in decision-making and participate in the budget planning process.
·
Clearly define roles and responsibilities, allocate necessary resources, and monitor performance to achieve measurable outcomes.
·
Apply effective change management principles and tools to drive successful project initiatives.
Job Requirements
·
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in engineering or facilities management.
·
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
·
Preferred: 10 years or more of successful supervisory experience.
·
Previous experience in a healthcare/hospital setting.
·
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
·
Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
·
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, taking appropriate action when needed.
·
In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to healthcare facilities.
·
Preferred certification: Professional Engineering Certification, ASHE (American Society for Healthcare Engineering), or CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facility Manager).
