Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Labor and Delivery Manager is
responsible for assisting with the overall daily operations of L&D and the
Prenatal Unit (PNU) to achieve quality improvement, productivity, and patient
satisfaction goals and objectives established by upper management.

 

Responsibilities include:

Assist with managing
daily operations and activities of 9-bed Labor and Delivery and 7-bed PNUProvide
high-quality patient care to and act as a liaison with patients and their
representatives, physicians, and employeesSupport the
Director to ensure efficient operation of the department and optimum use of
resources to maximize productivity and minimize costsCommunicate regularly with Director to gather
data, provide consideration, ensure consistency in implementation of policies
and proceduresAssist with supervising and mentoring staff to ensure their performance and
the accomplishment of departmental responsibilitiesEnsure department compliance with JCAHO and all
applicable agencies (local, state and federal) 










','!*!Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
or equivalent preferred or working towards same, Master’s degree in Nursing or Allied Health
preferredCurrent BLS and ACLS or agreement to obtain by
90 day probationary periodNRP and STABLE within the first 6 monthsAdvanced Fetal
Monitoring course within first year of employment3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery Nursing required 1 year charge nurse or other nursing management
experience preferred
