Responsibilities
Manage a team responsible for accounts receivable collection for our rental properties
Maintain an effective collections program that ensures timely payment from residents while minimizing loss due to defaults
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing collections activities
Perform regular evaluation of collection performance and develop appropriate strategies to address deficiencies
Develop and maintain relationships with outside collection agencies and attorneys
Work closely with leasing staff to ensure proper handling of delinquent accounts
Implement process improvements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the collections process
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience
At least 5 years of experience in collections management
In-depth knowledge of accounts receivable processes and the legal and regulatory framework governing collections activities
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in relevant software applications, including collections management software and accounting software
