Global Associate Director, DE&I Programs and Strategic Communications

The Global Associate Director, DE&I Programs and Strategic Communications will be responsible for developing, managing and executing all aspects of global DE&I program, partnerships and communications in a manner that advances the MW’s strategic plan and overall objectives.
Reporting to the Director, DE&I Impact and Effectiveness, he/she/they will have primary responsibility for effectively managing internal/external stakeholders and is expected to take full ownership of organizing and flawlessly executing the full scope of event or program logistics. Leading, guiding and/or supporting project teams, diversity related committees/communities along with social impact initiatives will also be required, as requested. The winning candidate will develop and manage all strategic partnerships and sponsorships, ensuring the delivery of added value and ROI in service to McCann Worldgroup’s goal to become an employer of choice for diverse talent. Additionally, the person in this role is responsible to craft internal diversity messages or other communications as needed for the MW CDE&IO and develop/manage a multi-channel communications plan that clearly align and amplify MW’s Global DE&I Strategy.
The nature of this job requires someone who is creative, resourceful, high-spirited and fully capable of juggling prioritizing multiple projects and tasks independently with minimal oversight. He/She/They must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with superior project management capabilities. Stakeholder management and the relentless execution of administrative tasks are major components of this position.
As a key team member, the AD must be a completely self-motivated, proactive, and strategic thinker who has strong critical thinking skills, a balanced temperament and good judgment. Demonstrating a sense of urgency and taking personal pride in effectively managing all tactics associated with the successful execution of challenging assignments will be essential in this role.
Relationship Management and Strategy (Partners/Stakeholders)
Identify, support, and maintain relationships with diversity thought-leaders and organizations/initiatives focused on hiring, retaining and developing talent from under-represented groups.
Craft and execute proactive engagement strategy around external opportunities that allow the company to demonstrate thought leadership in the DE&I space.
Build and manage strong relationships with HR leaders, recruiting managers, employees, and community-based organizations.
Serve as the internal and external community liaison, maintaining a deep understanding of the needs and climate in our agencies with regard to DE&I.
Support our regional and agency DE&I leads through identified DE&I partner events.
Manage and coordinate the Global Diversity Coalition initiatives and
Execute strategic employee DE&I communications programs, initiatives, and content that drive employee engagement, education, and awareness.
Draft all materials through a culturally competent lens, proactively identifying opportunities to reflect inclusive language.
Identify, inspire, conceptualize, and collaborate to develop compelling content that supports storytelling for internal & external DE&I communications.
Support Corporate Communications team in refreshing and drafting DE&I content across all internal and external communications platforms.
Program Development Management
Develop, manage, and execute multiple internal diversity events or initiatives, including but not limited to: contracting, budget, registration, digital/print materials, pre-during-post event multi-channel communications/media, tech and AV, content supervision and speaker logistics.
Manage sponsorship opportunities and activations, track tables and event attendees, track sponsorship budget, and ensure optimization/utilization of all partnership benefits.
Build strong project plans optimized for efficiency while also digging in and executing effectively in a matrixed and sometimes ambiguous environment.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project and program success.
Identify key metrics to measure ROI and impact of all programming – deliver associated assessment reports following all events and identify ways to improve/scale programs over time.
Additional projects as assigned
Flexible and willing to put in long hours and travel to manage off-site programming or employee engagement
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications (or related area of study)
Minimum 7 years of experience in advertising, marketing, communications, entertainment, experiential marketing, integrated production or related field
Experience successfully managing and executing global projects
Ability to convert strategy into action through effective program development and implementation
Extremely skilled at multitasking and bringing projects to a close in advance of deadlines and within budget
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify, proactively communicate and resolve problems independently
Adept at proactively managing up and across to ensure all key stakeholders are fully informed of project status (as appropriate)
MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote) required
Ability to stay calm and work effectively and efficiently under intense deadlines
Able to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment where plans are always subject to change
