Summary:
As Poultry Financial Accounting Transformation Manager, this role is responsible for creating an environment and culture that fosters best in class performance and efficiencies across the poultry organization and other enterprise-wide initiatives. This is achieved by driving the adoption of best practices and other continuous improvement activities to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end and accounting close process. This role provides day-to-day management of each of the process initiatives or transaction-specific projects to meet the delivery requirements and cost savings targets as part of Finance Transformation.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The position will be asked to lead special projects on an ongoing basis, and they must have strong project management skills to be successful.
The manager will be responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships within Tyson poultry operations, the Finance and Accounting organization, and plant locations.
The resource needs to be analytical and a problem solver and maintain a continuous improvement environment.
The resource will manage, coordinate and design efficient models for poultry close processes or other enterprise-wide initiatives such as optimizing accruals and other processes improvements considering the use of automation where possible.
The manager will develop, and train poultry and enterprise-wide team members as needed on newly developed processes.
The manager will ensure a strong compliance environment considering impacts to internal controls when redesigning processes and using automation.
Embed a strong focus on service excellence and continuous improvement for all projects delivered, with a focus on cost reduction goals.
Collaborate with other Finance Transformation workstreams and leaders to continue to identify, prioritize & implement process improvement and cost reduction opportunities to achieve best in class performance.
Be able to deliver on commitments and meet established time deadlines while achieving results in a dynamic, constantly changing, and demanding environment.
Be able to perceive the impact and implications of decisions on plant locations and operations and network with leadership to obtain approval for key decisions and projects.
On-site time at plant locations or travel to plant locations as needed to analyze process improvement ideas and the process change impact to the locations and finance and accounting.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelors' degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this job (Accounting or Finance degree preferred).
Experience: 5 years of related experience preferred.
Special Skills: Excellent organizational skills. Certified Public Accountant preferred, but not required.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of SAP preferred, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate with all levels within the organization.
Management: This position will not have direct reports initially. Direct Reports may be added in future state.
Reports to: Sr. Director – Corporate Accounting
Travel: Approximately 6 domestic trips a year.
*This position will be located at our Humboldt, TN plant.
