: The Plant Foreperson Trainee is a training position that requires candidates to learn and safely perform the duties of these areas: mixer truck driver, central and plant dispatcher, batch person, QC technician, sales and service, production and delivery equipment preventative maintenance, loader/forklift operator and basic production and delivery safety responsibilities. Other production related duties may be assigned.
Essential Training Duties and Responsibilities
Candidate is required to maintain a Class “B” CDL or higher with air brake endorsement and will operate a ready mixed concrete truck and other plant production equipment as required.
Communicate with Plant Manager and Area Manager on issues effecting personnel, safety, maintenance, production efficiency, product quality, current and upcoming projects, competition and pricing.
Work with Plant Manager and Area Manager to ensure the safest and most efficient use of personnel is being utilized to complete all required tasks.
Assist Plant Manager and Area Manager with supervising production employees when directed while adhering to all applicable company policies and procedures.
Learn to establishes and meet customer order delivery times according to factors such as truck capacities, distances to delivery site, and fleet availability.
Enter and adjusts orders utilizing the dispatching system as directed.
Work with Plant Manager and Area Manager to coordinate the opening and closing of plant facilities according to established company procedures and guidelines.
Work with Plant Manager and Area Manager to determine and communicate production employee work schedules.
Work with Plant Manager and Area Manager to maintain appropriate inventory levels and learn raw materials scheduling.
Work within city, state, and federal compliance regulations.
Work with Plant Manager and Area Manager to properly maintain equipment and facilities through preventative and proactive maintenance.
Work with Plant Manager and Area Manager to perform and document plant inspections including; pre/post trip, bag house, TRI, storm water, and fuel reporting requirements.
Learn to communicate effectively and provide friendly assistance to our customers.
Communicates effectively with plant personnel, management, QC, Central Dispatch, safety and HR personnel.
Required to learn how to operate batch and dispatch console to dispatch and produce ready mix concrete according to customer and company specifications.
Required to learn how to perform tests on materials to ensure compliance with stated specifications and completes testing certification requirements as directed.
Works with the Quality Control department to ensure products meet specifications once produced and assists in maintaining plant testing logs.
Must obtain and maintain ACI and/or IDOT certification.
Learn to communicate with dispatch and service departments in a timely manner to identify and resolve issues which might impact customer service.
Learn and assist Operations Manager, Area Manager and Plant Manager with safety, production and compliance reporting.
Must be trained and released by Safety Department to operate mobile production equipment, loaders, forklifts, etc.
Must be trained how to process daily business transactions including; delivery tickets, cash sales, fuel consumption, mileage sheets and payroll.
Must be trained to recognize, document and coach PPE use and basic production and delivery safety procedures. Promptly report all safety and employee issues to Plant Manager, Area Manager and Operations Manager.
Assists with month end inventory counts and recounts as directed.
Learn HOS requirements and how to dispatch and operate within these requirements.
Assist with providing information for hourly employee reviews if required.
