A law firm is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney in Pittsburgh, PA.

Job Overview: The General Liability Associate Attorney will handle a caseload primarily on general liability insurance matters. They will conduct legal research, draft legal documents, represent clients in court proceedings and mediations, and collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases.

Job Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues related to general liability insurance matters.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements.
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation cases.
• Maintain billable hours and ensure accurate timekeeping.
• Manage client relationships and communicate case progress effectively.
• Assist in motion practice, conferences, mediations, and trials.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar Association in PA.
• 2-3 years of experience in General Liability Insurance matters.
• 2+ years of experience in a law office or similar legal environment (Clerkships in Superior Court considered).
• Familiarity with the Georgia Civil Practice Act and relevant matter-handling experience.
• Experience in discovery, particularly depositions and motion practice.
• Ideally, some second chair litigation experience at the trial level.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar Association in Pennsylvania.
