Education: Bachelor’s degree in design, merchandising, engineering, business, or fashion management. Experience: five years of overall progressive experience in the apparel or textile industry. Skills/Requirements: 2 years of experience: (1) apparel development; (2) apparel development process from inception through production, including pattern making, grading, construction, costing, manufacturing, embroidery, materials, and machinery; (3) prepare and present executive level presentations; (4) project management; (5) working with athletes to gather prototypes, gain insights, and ensure products fit correctly; (6) coaching and mentoring junior technical developers; and (7) leading the technical development process from end-to-end.

Will collaborate and influence Design, Product Management, and Manufacturing from initial concept through commercialization to ensure product, strategy, performance, craft expectations, sustainability and profitability goals are met. Will be involved in creating the process and calendars from concept through to commercialization. Will intersect with multiple supporting teams and functions, including PCC’s in Asia. Will be accountable for the team’s completion of the calendar gates and dates from prototype hand off through to being buy ready. Will lead process execution within the category and the team. Will redefine process and best practices, problem solving and being a resource to teammates and direct reports. Will mentor and coach teammates and direct reports daily. Will manage employees and set individual goals that link to departmental priorities. Will coach staff, support development, make hiring decisions, and drive performance management, recognition and rewards. Will utilize advanced knowledge of the apparel development process from inception through production, including pattern making, grading, construction, costing, manufacturing, embroidery, materials and machinery. Will keep abreast of market trends, category goals, new technologies, and process innovation throughout the development community. Will engage in athlete wear testing for retail and promotions. Will manage quality issues. Will use Optitex, Browzwear, and Digital Product Creation. Will work with and in three dimensional tools. Will rely on an understanding of anthropometric data. Will influence sizing on products. Will engage in 25 percent or less domestic and international travel. Will have three or more direct subordinates.
