Engagement Financial Advisors:
Deloitte's Engagement Financial Advisor team is comprised of professionals specializing in project and account operations serving as a focal point for aspects of engagement, program, and account management control. Engagement Financial Advisors provide engagement management knowledge for the entire project management team(s) by assisting with initiating and controlling organization and logistical aspects of projects. Their greatest value, however, is in the understanding and application of engagement business and financial processes, both to individual projects and to client accounts.
The Team
Our Engagement Financial Advisor team, part of Deloitte Services LLP, helps clients define what they need and how it can be delivered. We work with clients to define their projects' scope in as much detail as possible using advanced financial, budgeting, and forecasting techniques. We provide realistic cost estimates that account for projects' phases and activities, people, materials, hardware, and software and produce the best- and worst-case estimates using leading-edge project and client management software to keep clients' projects on track and on cost.
Work You Will Do:
As an Analyst, Engagement Financial Advisor (EFA), you will assist project leadership in managing revenue and margins by emphasizing cost of delivery that affects overall engagement profitability.
Maintain compliance with clients' policies, perform internal financial analysis including budgeting, forecasting, and cost variance analysis, and help manage projects' billing and receivables process.
Monitor project performance and determine improvement areas by developing key performance indicators and frequently communicate with the project team, finance department, and other project stakeholders to keep projects on track and within the scope of cost.
Team and collaborate with other EFAs across the practice, including our practitioners in India.
Analyst Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economic or related discipline from a four-year accredited university
Analyst Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a financial analysis role.
Experience with MS Access and MS Project applications.
As a Consultant, Engagement Financial Advisor (EFA), you will be responsible for supporting one or more engagement teams through successful management of the financial analysis and reconciliation processes and the implementation of engagement management controls.
Be responsible for supporting one or more project/engagement teams through successful management of the financial analysis and reconciliation process and the implementation of project management control
Prepare budgets and forecasts to project and track financial metrics such as revenue, expense, etc.
Interact periodically with senior level internal, and sometimes external, clients to present various analyses, discuss recommendations and provide project financial advice
Track expenditures and perform the client bill and receivable collection functions
Perform and manage project management office (PMO) functional tasks and perform day-to-day contract management activities
Understand and utilize standard processes for project management, quality management, and risk management
Contribute to the growth and development of the overall EFA team through active involvement in one or more practice initiatives
Consultant Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience or Business Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economic or related discipline and 2 years of relevant experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Consultant Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with a variety of contracting types (e.g., time and materials, fixed price) and billing scenarios
Experience in a professional services firm
Experience with MS Access and MS Project applications
As a Senior Consultant, Engagement Financial Advisor (EFA), you will be responsible for supporting one or more engagement teams through successful management of the financial analysis and reconciliation processes and the implementation of engagement management controls. You will oversee the activities of junior EFA staff, including supervision, task management and deliverable quality reviews.
On any given assignment, as a Senior Consultant EFA, you may be responsible for the following activities:
Perform various financial analyses such as reconciliations and variance analysis.
Lead and oversee budget preparation activities and forecasts. Project and track financial metrics such as revenue, expense, etc.
Interact frequently with senior level internal and external clients and firm leadership to present various analyses, discuss recommendations and provide engagement financial advice.
Track expenditures and manage client bill and receivable collection functions.
Perform and manage engagement management office (PMO) functional tasks and perform day-to-day contract management activities.
Conduct quality reviews of and provide feedback on the technical work products of junior resources.
Develop and implement standards and processes for engagement management, quality management, and risk management.
Support the growth and career development of junior resources by serving as an informal mentor and a formal coach to their assigned teams, providing them with career and professional development guidance.
Participate in formal performance assessment activities for assigned staff.
Contribute to the growth and development of the overall EFA team through active involvement in one or more practice initiatives; and
Prepare and facilitate firm training sessions on a variety of topics and methodologies
Senior Consultant Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial analysis role
Minimum of 5 years of experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced level PowerPoint and advance to expert Excel Skills (Excel certification will be required post-hire)
Experience producing and delivering appropriate communications to C-level Executives
Experience summarizing results and producing management reports
Demonstrated attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines
Senior Consultant Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supervising and/or managing resources
Experience in working and collaborating with international teams
Experience with MS Access and MS Project applications
Experience working with a variety of contracting types (e.g., time and materials, fixed price) and billing scenarios
Experience developing project pricing models and performing scenario analysis
Experience in a professional services firm
Qualifications
Required at all levels:
All candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed; dependent on client staffing, travel is typically limited.
Solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance principles
Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team.
Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to think outside the box while identifying problems and developing creative solutions.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top end of the range, but such a decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the Analyst range is 49k - 65k, Consultant range is 59k-79k, Senior Consultant range is 78k - 105k.
Consultant and Senior Consultant candidates may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
Lifestyle/Travel Guidelines:
Engagement Financial Advisors work at a minimum of 45 hours per week and can often work in excess of that depending on need.
All candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed for their clients, however, depending on staffing needs, most positions are in-office-based with limited travel required. While limited travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.
